Eyology and Sclera Analysis

An Eyologist is someone who is trained in both the sciences of Iridology and Sclerology. Whereas Iridology involves the assessment of the iris, Sclerology or the new term, Sclera Analysis, involves the assessment of the lines and various markings in the whites (or sclera) of the eye. Together, the clinical data which can be obtained provides a very accurate and thorough analysis of various organs and systems in the body which are stressed or congested. It's wonderful when the lines point to where the problem lies, i.e. showing us if there are hormonal imbalances or a lot of toxicity in the digestive system or weaknesses in immunity, etc. Since the eyes never lie, the most prominent markings seen will always be verified by the client history.

Interview with Helen Luczak, Eyologist, on Rogers Cable TV

If you live in London, tune in on Tuesday, March 11th at 7 pm to watch The Holistic Health Diary on Rogers Cable TV, Channel 13. If you are not a Rogers subscriber or live out of town, you can watch this half-hour show on www.rogerstv.com website. Look at the top right hand corner of the page and select "London" as the city. Then find this week's program schedule. Select the above show which can be found in the 7 pm time slot. We'd love to hear your comments after you watch this segment!

What Can Sclerology Do?

Sclerology, the lesser known science, has been steadily gaining popularity since Dr. Leonard Mehlmauer, foremost expert in this field has been actively teaching practitioners world-wide during the past 15 years. Sclerology is known as Iridology’s perfect companion because it verifies the markings in the iris. It also confirms information from diagnostics in other health modalities with the added advantage of being non-invasive plus it's highly relatable as people are looking at their own eyes. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to view the Sclerology map which shows where the different organs and glands in the body can be located.

Trained and mentored by Dr. Mehlmaur, Helen Luczak has been practicing Sclerology since 2000. She uses a special Grand Medicine camera which takes research quality images of the eyes. 22 photos are taken prior to the Health Assessment involving looking at the eyes on a large computer screen. In the first appointment, the digestive system is examined and recommendations provided on typical priorities which come up such as colon or liver cleansing, providing enzyme support for the stomach or correcting blood sugar challenges. In the second, two-hour appointment, the circulatory, respiratory, and lymphatic systems are examined as well as the brain and covered. Overall recommendations are provided after this session.

Emotions are also highlighted in Sclerology. Many people have red lines or marking showing in the Emotional Liver, Emotional Heart, Emotional Back, Emotional Skin, Emotional Pancreas, Emotional Stomach or Emotional Tongue. These areas indicate the mental stressors or emotional causes for symptoms or the development of conditions which need to be addressed. For example, many signs for heart disease show in the eyes; but specific ones such as redwash (showing redness in the corners of the sclera) indicate that the heart disease has an emotional component. This is helpful for addressing the root cause of illness. To book an appointment, please call 519 680-2884 or send us an email.

Prior to the appointment, two health questionnaires must be completed in advance. Either send them back as an email attachment or print off, complete in pen and bring with you. Please select the appropriate health history form by clicking on name of the form (men or women) and also the nutrition questionnaire which can be downloaded from the left hand column on this page. To view the Eyology Assessment Fee Schedule, please click here.

As a follow-up or in conjunction with an Eyology appointment, we recommend having the WISE Nutritional Analysis done. Please click here to download the questionnaire which can be completed on the computer and then sent back to us as an email attachment. We can assist you with a long-hand version if you do not have the computer resources. During the month of March, we are featuring a special price on the WISE -- ask for details. Another special involves receiving a complimentary CD with more than 200 handouts and articles on it related to health, cleansing and nutrition. This has a value of $30.

If you live in the GTA, you can be seen in our Oakville office or depending upon where you are in Toronto, it may be possible to have a home visit appointment. Either call 519-680-2884 or email luczak@rogers.com to book an appointment. We are currently booking for Thurs. April 16th or Fri. April 17th.

Sclerology can:

  • Provide detailed information concerning what is happening now in the body
  • Verify and enhance data obtained by Iridology and other health evaluation modalities
  • Educate the client on potential health conditions before they manifest as symptoms

What Exactly Can be Seen in the Sclera?

  • Stress and congestion of any significance in every area of the body
  • The conditions and origin of disease in various organs and tissues
  • Tendencies for cardiovascular and neoplasm (cancer) challenges
  • Signs of parasites and bacteria and other micro-organisms in the body
  • The damage done by drugs, and each level of drug pathology
  • Emotional sensitivity and reactive-emotion-related disease

Sclerology can provide both basic and detailed information which verifies and enhances data obtained by Iridology. The Sclerology map was produced by Leonard Mehlmauer, ND of Grand Medicine in April 2000. www.eyology.com

The Grand Medicine Wall Chart features photos and mechanical images of the sclera  with captions. Statistically, signs in the following areas show up more frequently: the lower bowels, thyroid, kidneys, prostate/uterus, pancreas, heart, stomach, lungs, liver and hypothalamus (the brain's master gland).

Many eyologists opt to take digital camera photos of their clients eyes in order to be able to study the various markings and line configurations. Together the practitioner and client view these images on a computer screen. The interpretation of the lines and marking has been described by many as "fantastic" because of course many people see the correlation between what the eyes reveal and the symptoms they are experiencing and/or the verification of many factors which have been explored during the history taking.

What are we seeing in the photograph above? The heavy thicker, red lines showing in the right side of the lower left sclera of a 50-year-old female reveals significant congestion in the sigmoid and descending colon. The more prominent lines command more attention than the  lighter lines. The area nearest 5 o'clock represents the left ovary which is negatively impacted by bowel toxicity. Bowel cleansing is an example of one of the recommendations which would be given top priority. This could include colonics, herbal fibers, parasite cleanses or using hot castor oil packs.

The lighter sclera lines on the left found in the rectum signify a lesser degree of congestion. Originating in the rectum, the main line then moves upwards towards the iris also passing through the kidney and stomach areas. The curve backwards at the end of the longest line reveals an immune compromise of the stomach. Enzymes play an important role in this Type B's program and more raw food in the diet including cultured foods like kefir are especially beneficial.
